Well, of course I can’t ever be truly wordless. But, I have a bunch of pictures I need to get off my phone and there’s no better way to do it than to string them together into a short story.
My mom got the girls sidewalk chalk paint for Easter, presumably because she thinks plain sidewalk chalk isn’t messy enough. So, I finally let them get it out and begin “painting” with it…
Seven years into parenting, I’ve arrived at a place where I can sit in my chair on the sidewalk and just watch the mess unfold. I can’t say that the scenes below don’t bother me {because they do}, but I let it happen.
Always our most tactile child, the Preschooler can’t settle for merely painting with the paint. She must experience the paint.
We cleaned that up and things were going relatively well until the Toddler remembered she has a spray bottle. I’ll admit I knew this was about to get ugly, but I made the decision to take pictures instead of worrying about it.
So, this happened.
Then, the Toddler got banned from participation in painting. So, she grabbed a frock {it’s like a cape for artists} and made a get-away on her trike leaving her angry sisters and a path of destruction behind her.
She was so remorseful, as usual.
And, that ended our use of the sidewalk paint.

In other unrelated picture stories, I received a catalog in the mail yesterday with a fun new spin on my first name.
I’m used to being addressed as Holly, Holley or Holli. But, Hoolie is a new one. It’s like a fun nickname for hooligan.
Also, I had to take a picture of this because it’s never happened before. I was driving and tried to use the voice command on my phone to ask Siri to send a text to the Spouse. And, she replied back to me with this message.
What?? Ironically, it was around 4:00 in the afternoon and that is exactly how I feel at that time of day, too. So, I think I’m going to personalize this message and see if it works. Something along the lines of…
“I’m really sorry about this, but Hoolie can’t take any requests right now. Please try again later.”
We’ll see how that goes.
