Wordless Wednesday

It’s after midnight {which means it’s technically Wednesday}, and I’m choosing to take the easy way out tonight by doing a “wordless” post. Except since it’s me, it won’t technically be wordless because I can’t ever seem to post pictures without captions…

With all the festivities surrounding Easter, we had a lot more activity than usual last week. I’m ashamed to admit I had to Google “how to make hard boiled eggs” before beginning our egg-dyeing on Friday. All I can say in my defense is… I’m a scrambler. After reading a tutorial, the boiling and the dyeing commenced.

In typical fashion, the Preschooler was intense about her eggs and took the whole dyeing process very seriously.
The Toddler was also intense, but she only had the patience to leave her eggs in the dye for a few seconds, so her palette was more pastel. {Who knew a Cetaphil jar could have so many uses?}
The Baby watched the whole egg dyeing process with a mixture of curiosity and confusion. You have to admit, it’s a strange tradition.
Both girls really got into hunting eggs this year. Only the Toddler was very selective about the eggs she found. Here she had come upon an orange egg that didn’t pass her initial inspection.
So, she put that ugly orange one right back where she found it. Not all eggs are created equal, and it’s definitely quality over quantity with her.
Finding a golden egg was by far the highlight of the hunt for her. She had no concern about what, if anything, was inside. She was completely satisfied just knowing she had found a shiny egg.
Easter morning with 2/3 of the crew… those who can stand up for a picture.
And, Easter morning with 3/3. The backdrop would have been more exciting outside, but the Baby has an aversion to the sun, and all three girls have the tendency to be extremely distracted by everything from a breeze to a bird.

Any time the girls wear matching dresses, it never fails that a few people ask me if I made them. And, as much as I’d like to lie and say “yes,” the very idea that I would possess enough sewing talent to do so is preposterous. Oh, I could make them a really cute monogram. But, it would be on the computer and then I’d have to print it off and tape the piece of paper to the front of each of their dresses. And, somehow that doesn’t sound as cute.

Also over Easter week, the Preschooler took her first real bike ride. We noticed she had packed a Bible in the basket on the front of the bike, and we’re not sure whether she intended to do a little door-to-door evangelism on her ride or if she just felt safer with it being near her. Whatever the case, it seems like a good plan to keep it close by at all times. If her fearlessness with a bike is any indication of the way she will behave behind the wheel of a car, it will be several decades before she drives one.

And, in closing… the Baby thought the whole bike riding thing was wildly entertaining. Scary at times, exhilarating at times, but definitely entertaining.

  1. such cuties! I've never seen the toddler smile in so many pictures! I love that she is so particular about her eggs too..that's hilarious. AND…hopefully when she starts dating, she'll be just as particular, and won't end up with a "bad egg". ha!

    1. Yes, let's hope she keeps that discerning eye when it comes to dating! I can hardly stand to type that word… Hope MC had a happy first Easter! 🙂
