I only started this blog a few months ago, yet I find that I’m already growing tired of myself, tired of my writing style, tired of my humor…
I don’t think for a second that my stories and experiences through parenting are any more significant than anyone else out there. Nor, do I think that my kids are cuter (thought I’ll admit some bias here), my life is more entertaining, or my thoughts are more profound than others. I, for sure, do not bring parenting advice, cooking tips, crafty inspirations, or other domestic revelations to the blog world. All I can offer are some random ramblings.
But, all I know is that for me, at least, writing is therapeutic and energizing (except when I’m doing it at midnight as is the case right now). Generally, it makes me think through and process things in a way I wouldn’t otherwise be forced to do. It relieves stress and quickens my spirit. And, the more I write, the more I want to read… and learn and grow and laugh with others who are writing, too.
So, that’s why I do the blog thing. I hope that some day down the road, I’ll be glad to have these adventures (and misadventures) chronicled here to remind me what was going on way back in 2010 and to remind my children how much they taught me, and challenged me, and entertained me along the way. It’s a public journal at its best and a selfish indulgence at its worst. I’m aiming for more of the former.
Anyway, some of you (whether single or married with a houseful) have mentioned that you’re toying with the thought of doing this blog thing yourself. I hope I can encourage you to do so–even if you only write one post a month. You’ll never regret it. And, just think, you’ll be giving me and others the gift of something new to read 🙂
And, for those of you who are perfectly content to simply be readers, I am grateful for you. A blog would just be a diary without you. So, thanks so much for reading. You are kind and patient. And, you make writing more fun and much more purposeful.
Hope y’all have a fabulous FALL weekend!! And, welcome, October!!

Hollie – I think it's great that these blogs will serve as a reminder to you of God's love and provision for your family, as well as capturing all of the funny stuff about little people. They are big entertainment, indeed. Only sad part is, they get big really quick! I thought Katie and Bay would be small forever. I miss this age group. Enjoy every day. Blessings to All, Lisa Conway

Lisa, thanks so much for commenting. You would know all about the joys and challenges of raising daughters close in age! I'll heed your advice about enjoying it; they are lots of fun. I'm so excited to hear about your new business venture and can't wait to see how it all takes shape. Blessings on that and your whole family, too!
