I was looking back through my phone and found some pictures that pretty well summarize our week.
The first is this baby doll. It’s important to know that the Preschooler is fascinated with looking at baby pictures of herself, especially those from the first few hours of her life.
In a quest to encourage positive sibling relationships around here, we’ve been reading lots of books on sisters and sharing. So, when I discovered the Preschooler reading her own version of this story to her imaginary classroom the other day, I was at least glad to see that she has some interest in her special role as the “big sister.” Shortly after this picture a fight broke out between the girls about who got to play with which baby doll. But, still, I think this is a step in the right direction…
When the weather outside isn’t cooperating, sometimes it’s best to just “think spring” {or mid-summer} by putting on last season’s swimwear and taking your doll for a swing. {This picture reminds of the need to start shopping for some new sunscreen with a 50+ SPF. She comes by that skin honestly}.
And, this would be this week’s meal-time miracle. At the suggestion and encouragement of a friend who made this last weekend, I attempted my first ever Paula Deen recipe: Chicken and Rice Casserole. I’m not usually one to try the recipes of the Food Network personalities, but I felt safe with Paula Deen knowing something of her fondness for butter, mayonnaise, and cheese. And, she didn’t disappoint. I may have to declare this my first go-to casserole of the Southern variety. I’m getting braver…
Hope you have a great weekend!
