For babies that can’t quite sit up on their own, there is an inventive creation out there called the Bumbo seat. I don’t know how to explain its ergonomics, but somehow it safely helps young babies sit in an upright position so they can see what’s going on around them. It’s brilliant and handy. But, in order for the seat to be most effective, the baby has to like it.
And, generally, ours don’t. At least, the Toddler didn’t.
This is the Toddler on her first Easter. Granted, it might have been the hat that had her so disgruntled.
This is the Toddler again, and I’m not sure what the excuse for her displeasure would be here.
And, once more, you see that we are overjoyed to be in our Bumbo.
Since every child is different, I figured that the Toddler’s disdain for the seat wouldn’t necessarily mean that the Baby would have the same feelings toward it. And, since she likes nothing more than being up and able to see all the action going on around her {because there is always a LOT of action going on around her}, I thought it would be worth my time to dig through our garage yesterday to find it.
Fortunately, I think she might be a little more fond of the seat than her sister. She tends to be a sloucher in it, but she at least seems to enjoy the new-to-her seat in short spurts.
My mom has been nagging encouraging me to locate the Bumbo for weeks because she’s convinced it will be so good for the Baby to be able to “sit” at different times throughout the day. So, when I found it and brought it in for her to try, I sent Mom this text message.
Things like this make me love the auto-correct feature on my phone.
For now, the jury is still out on the Baby and the bimbo.
My fingers are crossed, though, because my back wants a break!

Hilarious! I've always loved that picture of the girls sitting in the yard. It cracks me up every time I see it!
