For some reason, the Preschooler has long referred to “trick-or-treating” as “sugar-treating.” So, since it’s really a pretty fitting description of what happens on Halloween, we just go along with it. And, last night we did just enough sugar-treating to justify getting dressed up.
The Kindergartener went as a Snow Princess, not to be confused with an angel. If you look closely, those are snowflakes on her wings and tutu. And, yes, she’s carrying an Easter basket because that’s all I could find at the time. I did at least take the pastel liner with little eggs all over it out for the evening.
The Preschooler went as her beloved Minnie Mouse. I think this might have been the first year that she was excited {and cooperative} about her costume. I wanted to have a theme and have all three girls coordinate in some way, but she was so set on going as Minnie. And, I didn’t have the heart to try and persuade her otherwise.
At one point in the evening, Minnie dropped her pizza on the ground and was pretty down about it. But, we found a replacement piece and all was well.
Amazingly, the Snow Princess managed to stay snow white through her pizza dinner.
This year the Baby went as a flower fairy. She was fine with most elements of her costume, with the exception of the flower petal headpiece…
It was her goal to get it off her head all night no matter how many diversions I tried to create.
It was also her goal to get into the candy bowl…
Even though she’s never had candy, she’s no fool. She knew there was something special about this stuff we kept handing out to people at the door.
Long after the last trick-or-treaters had come, we found her sneaking back into the bowl for more.
