This morning we awoke to a surprise round of snow. A reprise of sorts of last week, except this time around we got the light, fluffy pretty kind. About 8:30 AM, the Toddler walked down the stairs in this ensemble announcing she was ready to go out in the snow.
I’m not sure what her plans were for her outdoor adventures, but the dark glasses and the mysterious contents of the bag make me suspicious. She has a track record for mischief.
In other weather news, on what was our fifth day off from school due to the winter weather, my oldest shared this thought with me:
The 2nd Grader: It’s so nice to have such a big break from school.
Me: I know. It’s been fun.
The 2nd Grader: But, I guess it’s not really that different for you since you don’t really work or do anything, you know?
Yes, dear. I know.
It’s just another week in the life of this sluggard.
Sigh.
Perhaps someday she will realize that a week {or more!} off from school for her and her young and extremely energetic, high drama sisters is far, far away from a vacation for her mother. But, until then, I’ll just let her enjoy that delusion.
And, it’s true that parts of the snow break have been lots of fun.
The hot chocolate drinking…
The ice day crafts…
The snow swinging and slinging…
And, of course, Rosie thinks this weather is endlessly delightful.
But, at this point, this is kind of where we all are in terms of boredom.
Granted, this is just a normal TV-watching position for the Toddler.
I decided to take some action, though, in regard to all the extra energy the girls seem to have during the winter months. And, I had the Spouse rig this up in the playroom over the weekend. We need to add another ring, of course, but already it’s getting some good use.
If we have too many more snow days this season, we may just have a full-fledged gym up there, complete with padded walls.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
