These are a few of my favorite quotes from this week…
The Preschooler {speaking to the Toddler}: I have an idea! We can play the Princess and the Frog. I know! I’ll be the Princess and you can be the frog.
Could it be that she’s a firstborn? The crazy thing is, the Toddler excitedly agreed to be the Frog.
The Toddler {rudely}: I want to watch Moo-han right. this. second!
First of all, the name of the movie is Mulan. Anyone who can’t pronounce it correctly certainly shouldn’t be demanding it. And, secondly, that phrase and that tone… sometimes it’s surreal to hear yourself speak through the {raised} voice of your child.
The Preschooler {speaking to the Toddler}: I’m gorgeous. Do you think I’m gorgeous?
The Toddler {without ever even looking up}: No.
I’m not sure why the Preschooler feels the need to get her sister’s confirmation on self-observations such as this one, but it never, ever ends well.
The Preschooler {upon seeing Mimi approaching the door}: Here comes Mimi and she’s wearing her helmet.
Me: What are you talking about? Why is she wearing a helmet?
The Preschooler: Because it’s raining.
Here is a rear view of Mimi later sporting her “helmet.”
