The other night we were playing outside when I noticed the Toddler going back and forth and in and out between the front sidewalk and the downstairs bathroom. It’s never a good sign when I hear water running where she’s concerned, but this is what I found her doing.
And, she was so proud to announce to me… “Momma, I ‘wash-ted’ the flowers!”
See, this is exactly my problem with plants. I forget to “wash” the flowers. It’s a good thing for our two surviving flowers that someone around here remembers to do so.

This week is VBS at our church, and for the first time the Preschooler is old enough to officially participate. So, while she’s enjoying her pre-K class, the Toddler is adjusting to her class back on the nursery side of the building where they put those who aren’t quite yet old enough for the “big kid” schedule and curriculum. Still, her 3-year old class has great crafts, story time, playground time, and special sweet snacks. But, today when I picked her up she immediately informed me…
The Toddler: I don’t like one of my teachers.
Me: Why not?
The Toddler: Because she “weared” a yellow shirt.
Me: And… why does that make you not like her?
The Toddler: Because I don’t like the color yellow.
Well, that’s perfectly sensible. How can she possibly be expected to learn anything from a teacher who wears a yellow shirt?
This is what I’m dealing with. Ironically, her Bible verse of the day was, “People look at outward appearances, but God looks at the heart.”
Hmmm… something tells me we may need to keep working on that one for awhile.

While the Toddler and the Preschooler are busy washing plants and enjoying VBS, the Baby is learning some new skills of her own. Most recently, she has become obsessed with paper. More specifically, eating paper. Below is a small collection of last week’s paper items of choice.
Her favorites are magazines and coupons… she likes glossy. But, she’ll settle for coloring books and business cards in a pinch. Fortunately, the girls are very good to alert either the Spouse or me when they see her in action. I know paper is fairly harmless, but my concerns are: 1) She could get choked, and 2) She could eat a good coupon.
So, we have to keep a close eye on the purple paper eater and continuously trade her paper for plastic…
