In random order, some favorite phone pictures from the past couple of weeks…
The Preschooler likes to play doctor with me as the patient, especially the part where she gets to give me a shot with the most sinister face she can muster. On this particular day she reported my blood pressure as being 60/100 and my temperature as 61 degrees. I’m still waiting on an official diagnosis, but I think it might be something along the lines of dead.
Earlier this week the Kindergartener came rushing in before dinner to tell us that she had found a “treasure” underneath the porch. We imagined she had stumbled across a coin or maybe an old jewelry box or some other trinket of that sort. But, we had severely underestimated her treasure-hunting skills because she had single-handedly hauled this up onto the porch for us to see:
She was quite proud of her “little” treasure. I’m not sure how we hadn’t noticed this lurking under the porch all last year. Clearly, I need to get outside, or maybe just under the house, more often.
We finally let the Baby try out the tag-along that attaches to our bikes. She was all for it until the moment she realized that tagging along means wearing a helmet. She didn’t crack a smile the entire ride, and I really think it was all because of her cumbersome headgear. It really cramps her style.
This is the scene I stumbled upon the other day when I realized someone was being strangely quiet. She knows the big girls use the kitchen table for drawing and crafts, and she had some art of her own in mind to work on… which must have made the climb up onto the table well worth the effort. She was busily going at it on her arms and hands with a pack of markers. Thankfully the bib she was still wearing from lunch served as an apron of sorts for the busy artist.
And, finally, how can one be so fearless when it comes to heights and yet be terrified by something so small and harmless? It’s a profound mystery.
