The 1st Grader keeps losing teeth in dramatic fashion. Earlier this week she lost her sixth one, and she could hardly wait to leave the Tooth Fairy another note. Basically, she thinks they’re pen pals. Last month she wanted to know if the Tooth Fairy had a name, and we determined that she does… Tiffany. So, now she and “Tifny” correspond in a very personal way. Little does she know how much work she is creating for her beloved Tooth Fairy with these notes.
Never one to stop with just one question, she basically had Tiffany fill out an entire survey this week.
I think Tiffany is tired. I mean, she even had to answer a tricky question about the exact number of teeth she had lost, and there are a lot of teeth falling out around here these days to keep up with specifics. So, Tiffany herself told me that she would like the 1st Grader not to lose any more teeth for several months because she’s concerned she won’t be able to eat very well with so few left in her mouth. We’ll see how that goes…
Also last week the 1st Grader drew this picture of our family. I like seeing how her attention to detail changes from season to season.
I’m not quite sure why I am wearing a wedding dress and have dark, long hair. Apparently “Hoilly” was wearing extensions on this particular day. More concerning, though, is why the Spouse has a center part and a pencil mustache? But, I see where she was going with most of the rest. And, I think she nailed the Preschooler’s hair.
I’m just glad she didn’t do a close-up portrait on us because she’s starting to notice details that I’d prefer to have photoshopped out. In fact, one night this week she was sitting on the bathroom counter while I was washing my face, and she offered this tip:
Her: I saw a commercial on TV for a special lotion you can put on your face.
Me: Oh, really?
Her: Yeah. It says it gets rid of those little marks.
Me: What marks?
Her {pointing to my eye area}: Those.
“Those” would be crow’s feet and smile lines.
I have to appreciate her honest, although unsolicited advice. She’s a wealth of helpful information if you have any “marks” or areas of concern. But, so far, she’s a fairly kind artist.
