Some images from this week…
Here, we have the Toddler proudly demonstrating a balancing feat her sister taught her. Her favorite thing to say when she masters a new skill like this is, “You have to be big to do this.” I would argue that “you have to be small to do this,” but that would insult her to no end.
This would be the collection of rocks the Preschooler excitedly pulled out of her backpack yesterday after preschool.
Me: Where did you get all of these?
The Preschooler: At the playground.
Me: Honey, you really don’t need to take rocks from the playground.
The Preschooler: But, Mama! You said for me to stop taking the leaves, and I don’t ever bring home leaves anymore.
True, true. I did get tired of cleaning a stash of leaves out of her backpack twice a week. I’m afraid to tell her to stop taking the rocks for fear that she might start bringing home some sort of other natural treasure… pieces of mulch, handfuls of grass, etc. Maybe the rocks aren’t so bad…
With the incredibly warm weather and the extra hours of daylight we’ve been enjoying this week, the Spouse was anxious to take the girls on an evening bike ride last night. So, they got all their equipment and safety gear out for the big ride only to discover that his tires needed to be serviced.
So, they waited…
And, waited. And, posed for a picture… until finally they were on there way to the playground where they stayed just long enough for me to whip up a gourmet dinner featuring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, grapes, and brownies. I feel like the fresh brownies made up for the fact that the dinner part was so lame.
When we moved lots of toys were temporarily misplaced. Some I have missed more than others. Yesterday the Preschooler found one such box of forgotten toys in the garage that she couldn’t wait to open because it contained the tiny Barbie doll babies pictured above. They “drink” that itty bitty bottle and then need to be changed. Thank you for this, Matel.
And, lastly, this is the Baby trying out the exersaucer that we brought down from the attic this week. She was so excited to try out a new form of amusement. And, then her excitement turned to some serious concern about the spinning carousel that plays music.
That’s a lot of audio-visual stimulation to take in all at once. Though you would think she’d be used to overstimulation since she lives with the Toddler and the Preschooler…
Happy {almost} Saint Patrick’s Day and happy weekend!
