I would compare yesterday’s little blast of spring to discovering a fountain of water in the desert. We needed it, and it has never tasted so good. The girls couldn’t get enough of the warm weather surprise, so we played outside for two consecutive hours during which time I decided to practice my photography skills.
The Preschooler got a Cozy Coupe way back when she turned 2, and each year since she has gotten much more confident in her driving skills. Actually, she now finds “driving” it around the driveway to be much too boring for a 4-year old, and she has taken to going on brief off-road adventures. Unfortunately, these do not always go as planned, and today’s attempt to do it “back-erds” resulted in a rollover. Apparently, though, this was not a deterrent to trying again. To paraphrase 2 Timothy, “God did not give {her} a spirit of fear…”
The Coupe is a real gas-guzzler, so we had to make an early pit stop in the garden center…
It was then when we remembered that one should never leave home without a good jumprope. You never know when you might be hit with an urge to exercise… or to tie your sister to a tree.
While the Preschooler was busy trying new tricks in her Coupe and/or with Bitty, the Toddler was fretting over the loud construction noise coming from up the street (where they’re building a new house at long last). She was convinced the workers were going to shoot off “fire bells” (a.k.a. “fireworks) at any moment, and refused to leave the garage until I convinced her it was safe to play.
Eventually, she was lured out with bubbles…
Rarely do the girls play this closely together without a territory war breaking out. But, the bubbles seem to have a mysterious unifying effect on them…
Or, maybe it was the sun…
