Tricks and treats

Lately the Preschooler has been running around saying “Abracadabra!” as she makes various things “disappear” behind blankets or stuffed animals or whatever she can find as a handy prop for her magic show. But, with her latest trick she has amazed even herself.

See this innocent looking pop-up toy?

Well, the blue birdie is sitting square on top of one of my bracelets. It’s a little black beaded bracelet the Preschooler was playing “magic” with yesterday, and somehow she has managed to get it stuck down inside there in such a way that it’s not coming out until we’re willing to crack the whole toy wide open down the middle. We’re no stranger to foreign objects being stuck in toys. But, with this one, there’s no access to the goods via the battery compartment. And, so far, the blue bird has been unwilling to spit anything back up for us.

So… “Abracadabra!” This is my new jewelry box until a certain trickster figures out how to reverse her magic.

Not to be outdone by her sister’s antics… the Baby is full of some of her own. Thus far this week, she has eaten this:

And, this:

{To be renamed… If You Give the Baby a Book}

So, it’s no surprise that she feels the need to carry a toothbrush with her at all times in case any debris should be lingering on one of her six teeth:
