Meet our newest member

Over the weekend we stepped/jumped into uncharted, somewhat scary territory for both the Spouse and me. The 2nd Grader has been on us about this matter for a couple of years now. And, after much discussion and research, we brought home a family pet. Not a goldfish or a hamster or anything low maintenance that would stay confined to a bowl or a glass cage. But, a puppy.

Are we crazy? Probably.

Are we ready? Of course not.

Will she challenge many of the OCD tendencies I struggle with every day? Most definitely.

But, are we smitten? Yes.

Meet Rosemary, or Rosie, as the girls call her.

She is an 8-week old goldendoodle of the “miniature” variety. {We’ll see how miniature she proves to be in a few months}.
Likes:
Food, socks, the Toddler’s hair, the 2nd Grader’s seat, and a strange elf toy that still carries the scent of her litter mates
Dislikes:
rules

Fears:
Balls {things that roll}, wind gusts, and vacuums

Bad Habits:
Presently there are too many to name

Best Qualities:
An endearing softness and playfulness

She is half sweet, half naughty. She is high maintenance. And, she already delights in outsmarting us. So, she should fit in very well with her human siblings.

The Spouse is just glad he now has a legitimate reason to get me to obedience school.

I have a feeling she and I will be there very soon. And, I may take the Toddler along, too, just to see if any of the pointers are transferrable.

I welcome your housebreaking/obedience training tips via email.
