Suburban Shalom

seeking peace and purpose from my little neck of the suburbs

Mad in the middle

Now that the Kindergartener is in school for a big portion of the day, the Preschooler and the Baby are having to adjust to the new dynamic around here as it’s just the two of them {and me!} at home until mid-afternoon.

So far, this is not going well.

The Baby is determined to be a playmate, but the Preschooler is more than annoyed at her attempts to join in on the fun, as illustrated by the pictures below.

First, we have the Baby beginning to annoy her sister in the playroom. At this point, the Preschooler was only mildly irritated.

Next, we have her trying to help color {or possibly eat} a page in the Preschooler’s beloved Max and Ruby coloring book…

The tension began to escalate…

Can you feel the love?

And, later we have the Baby excitedly asking if she can help put Daisy Duck to sleep.

Once again, her presence is unwelcome.

The Preschooler had held back as long as she could. And, things got ugly.

Rest assured, the Baby was perfectly fine. She just has a flair for the dramatic, {which she surely gets from the Spouse}.

Let’s hope these two learn to play together better in the coming days or I may have to withdraw the Kindergartener from school.

Oh…..my…….:) My First Grader does that same face when he doesn't get his way or something doesn't happen fast enough.
