Well, I have yet another rambling post based on nothing more than some of the ordinary happenings of our week.
Yesterday when I went to pick the girls up from their respective classes at Fellowship Kids, this is the craft that greeted me in the hallway:
Please note that these are approximately three feet long and one foot wide… and there are two of them… and they are fragile… and sometimes people (perhaps those who are late) have to travel great distances to reach their car. I think we should have some sort of size restriction on church crafts from this point on. Maybe something like: no craft may be larger in size than the child making it. But, of course, we toted these home with great care and are proudly displaying them in the kitchen, because… heaven forbid we leave our “love” at church.
In other random news, Toddler 1 is fast approaching her fourth birthday and seems to think that she is on the verge of adulthood. We’ve noticed in the past few weeks that she’s started referring to her beloved “Lambie” as simply “Lamb.” Apparently, “Lambie” is much too juvenile of a name for an almost-four-year-old’s security animal. So, “Lamb” it is. She has also been using her new, mature lingo with our names by referring to me as “Mom” rather than “Momma” or “Mommy” and similarly calling her “Daddy” just plain “Dad.” And, I don’t like this one little bit. I’m pretty sure that anyone who talks to “Lamb,” sleeps with “Lamb,” and puts together ensembles like the one below, still needs a “Mama.”
