To recap, here were the highlights:
• There was a fire in Barbie town that killed 1000 Barbies. {I don’t know how populated “Barbie Town” is, but that sounds like a big deal}.
• There was a plane accident in Mexico during which Princess Jazzmin (or Jasmine, as some say) was killed. {I thought Jasmine lived in Agrabah, but maybe she was vacationing in Mexico?}
• President Kate got a big reward. {I think the 1st Grader might be a bit confused about the title of Duchess Kate. Nonetheless, I think Kate Middleton would make a fine and very fashionable president}.
• A family of twenty-one got a new dog. {Did the Dugger’s get a dog?}
• PS: It was a big day.
I’ll say.
I’ll also say that we’ll be limiting the amount of television news the 1st Grader watches from here on out.
In other much less eventful news….
I’ve been searching for products that might help tame the Toddler’s wild mane. And, a week or so ago I saw a recommendation for a product with coconut oil in it that’s supposed to be particularly good at taming frizz associated with curly hair. So, I found a bottle at Target and have been trying it out on her hair at night. The jury is still out on its effectiveness, but I think it has potential.
Yesterday the girls were playing in their rooms while I was catching up on laundry when I got a whiff of a familiar beachy coconut smell. At first I didn’t think much of it, but then I asked myself. “Wait a minute. Why does the whole upstairs smell like a giant Pina Colada?”
And, that’s when I came upon this scene.
Once again, she was found using a hair product as sunscreen for her baby dolls. Several of them. And, apparently she’s a step ahead of me because I read today where coconut oil can actually be used both for the prevention and treatment of sunburn. Who knew?
The Toddler knew. That’s who. And those lucky baby dolls will have some healthy, though excessively oily skin for months to come.
