Yesterday was a big day for the Toddler… she got her right arm back.
The worrier in me is concerned because it still looks a little bent, especially compared to her left arm. So, of course, I’ve Googled it, and the consensus seems to be that it can take up to a year for a young child’s arm to grow completely straight again. I don’t know much about orthopedics, but a year seems like a long time. I sure hope Google can be trusted on this…
All the medical websites also say to encourage your “young child” to be careful with his/her arm and avoid high-risk activities like the monkey bars or gymnastics for several weeks after getting a cast off. Apparently the authors of these articles have never been around young children… especially not during an Olympic summer.
Oh, well. We have some major swimming to do to make up for the weeks we’ve missed!

My daughter's arm was still slightly crooked looking when they took her cast off, but it straightened out as she grew.
