Amidst all the February activities, the most exciting things going on in the Baby’s world are still bottles and afternoon naps in her swing. I’m convinced that she’s bored, so I try and spice up her days with musical toys that I dangle {or the girls cram} in front of her face and floor exercises on her jungle-themed gym. Yet, she continues to have no interest in “tummy time,” as the experts call it…
“You put me down here to do what? You’ve gotta be kidding me.”
And, with that… she flips her bib around like a cape, buries her head in the mat and waits to be rescued.
This picture pretty well represents my own feelings toward working out right now. If I have to be face down on the floor, please let me be asleep.
I met one of our new neighbors a few weeks ago and discovered that she’s a personal trainer, {which would explain why I see her walking around the neighborhood with various people multiple times a day. I just thought she had a lot of girlfriends}. She mentioned that if I was interested, I could come to the bootcamp that she leads three mornings a week in her garage gym. That would be great except that I would have three little sidekicks who would either have to attend the bootcamp with me {which the Preschooler would LOVE} or fend for themselves for the hour that I left them here alone. Neither of those seem like very good options. So, for now, I’ll have to hope that lugging a carseat and a double stroller around all week counts as some form of fitness. Most days I feel certain that getting all of us dressed and ready to leave the house is a decent cardio routine in and of itself.
Maybe one day soon the Baby will desire to learn to push herself up off the floor. But, until then, we’ll be skipping out on tummy time and bootcamp in favor of nap time and snack time.
I know… we’re incredibly inspiring.
