First day. First grade.

Well, it happened too fast. The Kindergartener has earned a new designation. She’s now officially the First-Grader.

She has already informed me that she’ll be learning to write cursive this year and sitting at a “real” desk. At this rate, she may be driving herself to school by second grade. She has also cautioned her sisters that they’re probably really going to miss her because she’ll be gone the whole day.

We’ll miss her for sure. But, I’m pretty sure the oldest two will benefit from a little bit of daytime separation. Meanwhile, the Toddler isn’t worried about who’s missing who because she’s too busy taking care of her own “pack-tacks” as she calls them.

She has no idea what purpose it serves to lug these things around. But, hey, everybody else is doing it.

So, here’s wishing everyone manageable loads in their “pack-tacks” and a great new school year.
