Suburban Shalom

seeking peace and purpose from my little neck of the suburbs

Dog-tired

Last night I told the Preschooler to wait for me downstairs while I got the Kindergartener tucked in and settled into bed. Approximately two minutes later I came back downstairs and discovered this:

Yes. Soundly asleep on the stairs.

And, this is now my goal for the summer: to stay outdoors enough and to play hard enough so that everyone might be this tired every evening. It makes bedtime soooo much easier.

Also, this summer I may need to work on broadening the girls’ understanding of extracurricular activities. One of our neighbor’s takes Taekwondo, and this just has them so baffled.

The Kindergartener: What’s Taekwondo?

Me {giving a vague answer since I’m not quite sure myself}: Ummm… it’s martial arts.

The Kindergartener: Oh. So, like you do art and stuff?

Me: Ummm… yes. Something like that.

And, now she thinks our neighbor {who can probably already break a board with the flick of his wrist} is taking art classes. We have so much to learn.
