Since this new “fall back” time has started, we’re trying to take advantage of any and all opportunities to be outside in the afternoon before it turns too dark and too cold. So this means a lot of time between four and six is spent on bikes, scooters, and behind the wheel of the electric car.
I can be all over the place when it comes to parental instruction. But if there’s anything I’ve preached consistently to the girls, it’s car safety.
So, this is disappointing:
For one, the driver has her eyes closed. Never good. Secondly, the passenger has one leg hanging out. Completely haphazard. And, thirdly, there’s a baby hanging out the engine. What in the world?
When I told them they really shouldn’t treat their dolls so carelessly they immediately “corrected” the problem.
There. Glad we fixed that.
Since she learned early on that the purple car is a scary place to be a passenger, the Toddler usually prefers to entertain herself by taking care of her own baby doll when we’re outside.
This goes fine until she gets frustrated that the baby won’t finish her snack. Few things make her as mad as an uncooperative baby.
Fortunately, she can usually be redirected with a snack of her own. Then, as a sign of her thanks she likes to give a big kiss… or as she calls it, a “big tiss.” It looks exactly like this:
