Suburban Shalom

seeking peace and purpose from my little neck of the suburbs

You have to pay to play…

Anyone who says girls don’t play hard has never met mine. We may play with girly-girl things like baby dolls, princesses, and tu-tus. But, we don’t always play gentle. Pages get ripped out of books, couches get used as gymnastics apparatuses, strollers get turned into race cars, and Barbies’ heads “fall” off. Does anyone recall the toddler classroom in Toy Story 3? Yes, that’s our home. Toys must enter here at their own risk. Sure, they’ll find love and attention. But, all that love has consequences. Just look at poor Barbie. Fortunately for her, Daddy can probably dry some tears and put her head back on. I’m just not sure her neck will ever be the same. Driving the Dream Car is probably not in her future. If you asked Barbie about all this, though, I think she’d say it’s worth it. After all, she is loved by some little girls who really know how to play 🙂

I hope you don't show pictures of what Barbi looks like after I try to fix her…

Very funny! I too had deja vue moments during Toy Story 3, so don't feel alone there.

As always, love your wit and writing!
