Suburban Shalom

seeking peace and purpose from my little neck of the suburbs

Another handy use for the smartphone…

The Spouse plugged his phone into my computer last night and uploaded a ton of pictures and videos that he had collected on there this summer. Lots of his pictures are work-related, but I always like to pull out the ones he has taken of the girls or different family events and save them. Really, he’s much better than I am at using the camera on his phone to capture everyday happenings. While I still think of my phone primarily as a means to call people and check email, he’s definitely better at using his for all sorts of practical purposes.

Today, I found a perfect example of this, and it’s a definite keeper. The video is only six seconds long, but I think it speaks volumes even in its brevity.

And, with that, you have the list of essentials that I sent him to get at Target not long ago. What I love the most is the seriousness of his tone. You know this is not a list to be messed with. You also know you’ve reached a real pinnacle in life when all you need to get through the weekend is a little gel, a new bottle of {blowing} bubbles, and some juice.
I think this will be a great reminder for us some day of life at this stage. It’s not glamorous {except maybe for the gel part}, but it’s what we do and how we survive. And, I love it.
If I can hear my voice over the Veggie Tales, I think I may start recording myself reviewing the grocery list in the car this week…
