A few years ago, when the Preschooler turned one, she received a gift that just keeps on giving… the Cozy Coupe {in pink, of course}. Since it doesn’t have a proper odometer, I’d have to guess at its current mileage. But, I can say with certainty that it continues to serve us well.
The Preschooler took to it immediately, and to this day, she remains a very serious driver.
She’s had her share of problems with driving — a couple of DUI’s…
And, some serious road rage.
But, for the most part, she’s enjoyed her time in the Coupe.
The Kindergartener has also had her share of fun with the car.
As the oldest, she’s always been good about properly gassing up and maintaining the vehicle.
In typical fashion, she was the one to try off-roading with it early on. She’d start at the top of the driveway and gleefully roll wherever the plastic wheels took her.
Her expeditions didn’t always end well, so we had to encourage helmet use when she was behind the wheel.
Just recently, we’ve introduced the Baby to the family car. And, she’s a big fan.
She does a lot of pointing to tell me where she wants to go.
And, heaven forbid we see a “doggie.” Because, then she immediately ejects herself by standing up and throwing a leg over the door. It makes me wonder how this car ever passed its safety inspection without a proper restraint system.
I’ve told her that driving {or, in her case, being chauffeured} is a privilege. And, I think her expressions indicate she understands this is serious business.
